If you’ve known me for some time, you know that I used to be 50 Cent/G-Unit’s biggest fan. Long before ANYONE around my city of Detroit knew who he was. When I first heard 50 Cent in 1998 on Onxy’s, “React,” I knew there was something about him that the world would soon know. THEN I heard him on How To Rob and knew that I had to find more. My underground 50 Cent/G-Unit mixtape collection approaches fanboy levels (or, at least it used to before the Hard Drive Crash of 2005).

And when he teamed with Eminem (who, if you know me,  is one of my favorites of all time)? I knew it finally that time. Then Beg For Mercy came out and I’ve been an ex-fan ever since.

But all of that is a story for another time. 50′s been redeeming himself lately  (see: the Forever King and War Angel mixtapes).

This freestyle he did to Cee-Lo’s, “Fuck You,” is that rare glimpse of the old 50 that us former die-hard fans have been waiting to hear. And you can tell that Em’s had a lot of influence on him over years. Just listen to the wordplay and delivery! Dare I say that the old 50 Cent is back? I don’t know but I hope!
